Ladue Schools will continue to follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC), St. Louis County Department of Public Health and our Medical Task Force COVID-19 guidance. Beginning on June 2, 2021, the following procedures will be observed for all summer school and other summer district programming for students. These procedures are in place to protect the large number of students who will not be fully vaccinated during these summer months.
- All students and staff must continue to wear face coverings indoors, anytime student programming is taking place.
- Students and staff may remove face coverings while outside, as long as they practice social distancing.
- Face coverings must be worn on the bus at all times.
- Students and staff should continue to self-check for symptoms at home using the Ladue Schools Daily Health Screening Form.
Summer Masking Update
As a district, we have consistently followed COVID safety guidelines issued by the St. Louis County Department of Public Health. Recently, the CDC and STL DPH released an update regarding masking protocol for the summer. As a result, I have good news to share with you! Effective June 2, 2021, we have adjusted our masking guidelines in some areas:
In Ladue Schools, all students and anyone working with, or around students will continue to wear masks, cohort, and social distance while indoors per the new recommendations.
However, the district will allow masks to be removed outdoors as long as students are maintaining a reasonable distance and are not in close contact for long periods of time (greater than 15 minutes). Outdoor activities for students should be planned and organized to prevent clustering. The goal is for students to run around and play. The district also encourages eating and snacking to take place outdoors, weather permitting.
Ladue Schools summer staff who are fully immunized and not working with students or in an area where students are present are allowed to work without their masks while indoors. As a precaution, staff should continue to wear a mask if they are not fully vaccinated, working directly with students, or entering an area where students might be present. All staff should wear a mask if/when they are greeting or interacting with visitors to campus.
As a reminder, fully vaccinated means it has been at least 14 days from your one-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson/Janssen) or at least 14 days from the second dose of your two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna).
Both vaccinated and unvaccinated staff should continue to monitor themselves for symptoms daily and stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness until your symptoms are resolved or it has been determined that you do not have Covid-19.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your school nurse or you may contact me directly. We are still here to support you over the summer.
Thank you. Be safe.
